When preparing the new building of the National Institute of Natural Sciences, we looked at the architecture through numbers, economics and future operation. Our task was to develop a multivariate energy concept that would help the investor choose the right technological and business strategy. In the study, we compared in detail modern systems using renewable energy sources with conventional solutions for the supply of heat and cold. We linked the technical parameters with financial reality and evaluated the impact on the institution's budget of managing the technologies in-house compared to selling them off and outsourcing them. Thanks to the analysis, the client gained a comprehensive view of the investments, operating costs, maintenance and carbon footprint of the building, which opens the door to efficient and predictable energy management for decades to come.
